Those Rare Books

Dear Sweet Gifts,

My cousin loves to read. I’d like to get him a book for Christmas, and I have a list of books I know he would like, but I can’t find them anywhere! Most of them are out of print, so it would make him even happier if I could get him one of those. What do I do?

Many good books have somehow managed to make the “out of print” list nowadays, but if you look around your city, you may stumble across book exchange shops and used books shops. These places, particularly if they have been around for a long time, will carry many old and obsolete books, so you may find more than one of the books on your list!

The newspaper classifieds may contain advertisements for old books for sale. If you have enough time and patience, a few phone calls and emails may turn up what you are looking for.

But, of course, the easiest and most organised place to look is on the Internet. Biblioz.com.au is an online book retailer, specialising in used and out of print books.
